Sanjay Rath

Sanjay Rath comes from a long line of astrologers in Puri, Orissa's Bira Balabhadrapur Sasan hamlet, who can trace their genealogy back to Shri Achyuta Das (Sri Achyutananda). Sanjay received his education from his uncle, the late Pandit Kasinath Rath. His grandfather, the late Pandit Jagannath Rath, was Orissa's Jyotish Ratna and author of numerous Jyotish publications. He began his studies at a young age and learned Jyotish in a way that only people who have been schooled in the ancient traditional way of the parampara can. Later, he earned a mechanical engineering degree and worked for the Indian government for a period. He possesses the depth of ancient knowledge with the ability to transmit it to the modern mind, having left government service to devote himself entirely to Jyotisha. He teaches Jyotisha using the foundations of Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra, Jaimini Upadesa Sutras, Brihat Jataka, and Saravali, as well as other Jyotish text and sacred literature such as the Bhagavad Gita, Upanisads, Puranas, and others. Sanjay's broad and deep approach is difficult to grasp, and only the most accomplished astrologer can properly appreciate it. His lessons reveal the underlying reasons for the principle's application. Although he did not create his own brand of astrology, which is wholistic and goes to the heart of the old Jyotisha scriptures, his teaching and writings span different schools of thought. He is a devout follower of the ancient seers' teachings, as well as a proponent of research and advancement in the field. His efforts fill the lack of advanced teachings and raise the standards in the astrological field, and he provides his students the clarity of vision of the Vedic eye. To further his parampara's teachings, he established the Shri Jagannath Center, where his advanced students are assisting in the dissemination of Jyotisha while maintaining its spiritual origins. Jyotisha, as well as mantra shastra, mudra, pranayama, meditation, and the Sanatana Dharma, are all taught to students. He is currently transcribing the ancient Jyotish writings based on his deep grasp of their significance, which he has received via the grace of his parampara.
