CVN Kalari

Late Sri. K Narayanan Gurukkal founded CVN Kalari Nadakavu, a classical Kalarippayattu institution. Veerashree CV and Narayanan Gurukkal Narayanan gurukkal, who brought this age-old art back to life in Malabar by attracting followers from all over the world. Guru Sri. Narayanan Gurukkal, the institution's founder, comes from a north Malabar Ayurvedic family with a long tradition in Kalarippayat and Marma Chikitsa. CV.Narayanan Gurukkal, in collaboration with Kottakkal Kanaran Gurukkal and other art stalwarts, worked tirelessly to resurrect the art in its purest form. The resurgence of Kalaripayattu is based on palm leaf scrolls and related know-how materials from traditional ruling families. Alien overlords attempted to eliminate this material art because it posed a significant military danger to their authority. Sri. Narayanan Gurukkal's exceptional efforts popularised Kalaripayattu art in Kerala after a long hiatus caused by the colonial authority in India. Narayanan Gurukkal, who died on December 24, 2000, had prepared his children Anil Kumar, Sunil Kumar, and Gopa Kumar to take over the CVN company. The trio has extensive experience and training in Kalaripayattu and Marma therapy, and they are well-known for their work in Kalari film action choreography. The CVN group has propelled Kalaripayattu to new heights. In various European countries, the CVN Kalari Nadakavu is practising Ayurveda and Kalarippayattu. CVN Kalari Nadakavu had taught Kalaripayattu to a significant number of pupils, including foreigners. Anil Kumar Gurukkal, Sunil Kumar Gurukkal, and Gopakumar Gurukkal are three well-known CVN kalari masters who are experts in teaching the martial art style to trainees. Kalari Training

Kalari is a type of gym where the martial art Kalari Payattu is performed. Kalari is specialised training in 'Marma,' the skill of understanding and activating all 107 energy points in the human body. These critical locations, known as marmas, are used to balance the body's energy pathways and replenish its supplies. As a result, Kalari transforms the practitioner into a self-healer who can also help others with his healing abilities.

Meythari begins a student's Kalari instruction.

Meythari

The first level in practising Kalari Payattu is Meythari, or bodily exercise. Meythari is a graded set of physical exercises that contribute to the development of an agile and supple body, stamina strength and rapid limb relaxes, balance and stability of footwork, and so on. This student learns various types of leg stretching exercises, as well as some stances such as Gaja Vadivu (Elephant Pose), Aswa Vadivu (Horse Pose), Simha Vadivu (Lion Pose), and others, as well as leaps, jumps, twists, and some body movements unknown to other martial arts, forward and side way movements used in defending and attacking. The student also learns the many strategies that can be employed in bare hand tightening at this stage.

Kolthari

Kolthari teaches students how to handle a variety of wooden weapons ranging in length from 1.5 to 6 feet, such as the Kettukari and Cheruvadi otta. This Otta is a one-of-a-kind curved hardwood weapon used only by Kalari to assault the key areas of the himan body. If any of the 107 Marmas (vital locations) in a human body is harmed, it might result in instant death. The student also learns the many strategies that can be employed in bare hand tightening at this stage.

Ankathari

The third stage of Kalari Payatt instructs students on how to utilise metallic weapons such as daggers, swords, spears, and flexible swords, as well as a variety of assaults and defences. In Kalari Payattu, a flexible sword is also a unique weapon used to defend against large attacks.

Verum Kai Prayogam (Bare Hand Fight) - A man will be able to withstand any form of attack with or without weapons if he receives effective kalaripayattu training, which is known as verum kai Mura. It comprises a variety of punches, blows, locks, leaps, and other moves, as well as the use of certain of the important spots (marmas) to freeze the opponent.
Marma Treatment: Because injuries can occur at any time in a martial art,  masters in institute developed a traditional treatment system separate from Ayurveda to treat misalignments of joints, shattered bones, and other injuries; the therapy is based on the marma points (Vital spots).

Kalari Treatments

Treatments are extremely important in the Kalari method because the utilization of weapons during training can result in unintentional injuries. Kalari Gurukkal is a neurology and orthopedics specialist who can treat any such injuries. Aside from Ayurvedic medicine, Kalari offers a unique therapy approach called "Marma chikitsa," which treats damage to essential body components. 64 of the 107 critical locations in the body are lethal if injured, and this therapy procedure cures any injury to such areas. Ayurveda and the location of the body's important points are included in a student's training to become a master. Kalari's traditional orthopaedic approach is frequently used, particularly for the treatment of misplaced bones.

CVN Kalari is well-known for treating orthopaedic, neuromuscular, and muscular disorders such as arthritis, spinal injuries, sports injuries, bone fractures, and rheumatism, among others. The CVN Kalari system of medicine is based on the Ayurvedic Kalari system of medicine, which is mostly based on massage.

Kalari uzhichil and massage are performed with medicated oils (Thailams) and pastes made by kalari masters after examining the nature of the illness and the patient's physiology. In kalari treatment, muscular injuries, broken bones, backaches, joint problems, spondilytis, arthritis, and rheumatic disorders are all treated with precision. All ayurvedic medications are made with carefully chosen plant extracts, oils, animal products, and naturally occurring minerals.

RAKSHATHIRUMMU: Rakshathirummu is primarily for patients who are unwell or have suffered birth traumas. The gurkkal decides on the drugs and days after speaking with the patient, and Rakshathirummu carries them accordingly.

SUGHA THIRUMMU: Sugha Thirummu is mostly used to relax the mind and body. It can be done at any time of year without causing any health problems. It is usually completed on the 7th or 14th or 21st days.

KACHA THIRUMMU: Kacha Thirummu is a kacha Thirummu that promotes flexibility and strength. This sort of massage is typically used by athletes and martial artists to improve body strength and flexibility.
