ASSOCIATION FOR YOGA & MEDITATION

The Association for Yoga and Meditation (AYM) Yoga School in Rishikesh is a government-registered non-profit organisation. Yogi Chetan Mahesh, the school's Spiritual Master, is in charge. It was created in 2005 by well-known Indian yogis. Through traditional and ancient yogic teachings, we hope to transmit happiness and wellness.

In September 2005, it became clear that a national standard for yoga teacher training (in India) was required. Yogi Chetan Mahesh and other well-known yoga specialists and renowned yoga Gurus agreed to form a foundation to address the issue, and the 'Association for Yoga and Meditation' was formed with the Indian government. Graduates of AYM can join the International Yoga Federation (IYF) and the Yoga Alliance USA. Most nations have national yoga associations that conduct yoga programmes and sports on a nationwide level. Winners of national level sports activities in India are eligible to compete at IYF international levels. In 2006, AYM approved a resolution establishing the Indian Yoga Alliance (IYA) as an administrative organisation for maintaining worldwide yoga standards.
