Ananda

Narendra Nagar, Uttarakhand, is home to Ananda in the Himalayas. It's a high-end destination spa. This is a 100-acre (40-hectare) Himalayan Mountain estate. This location is bordered by sal woods and overlooks the Ganges River. The cities of Rishikesh and Muni Ki Reti are also near by. This spa first opened its doors in the year 2000. In India, this was the country's first destination spa. The major focus at Ananda is on Yoga and Ayurveda practises. Yoga and other forms of meditation are mixed with foreign spa services. The Maharaja of Tehri Garhwal owns this land, which contains the Narendra Nagar royal residence (an Indian princely state).

The Palace Estate, Narendra Nagar Tehri - Garhwal, Uttarakhand - 249175, INDIA

There is a great deal of drama and sadness linked with the history of this location. The Ananda destination spa's vice regal suite is housed in the Shah family's palace, which also serves as the princely state's residence. Narendrangar is a lovely town, and the local market is equally appealing. A broad centre road runs through the market. The area is ideal for a getaway because the faraway hills can be seen from there. Ma Anandmayi, a well-known spiritual leader, frequently visits the palace. She provides sensible advice in a compassionate manner, which is why she is so well-liked all around the world. Her spiritual force is hidden in the Viceregal terrace's corner, from where the valley may be seen. There were also signs of the Maharaja's deep ties to India's spiritual heritage. The present Maharaja Manabendra Shah's father took up the throne from his father. However, things changed dramatically once India gained independence, and princely positions were no longer available. As a result, the family resorted to politics to guarantee that their origins were preserved.
